Buds is an acrylic drawing inspired by a photograph I took in Sendai, Japan. I was struck by the way the branches stretched outward, dotted with small tied forms that felt both delicate.
The composition focuses on repetition and subtle variation: green needles radiating outward, soft layered strokes building atmosphere, and pale white and blue ties punctuating the branches.
