"Limitations" Canvas Print - 18"x24"

About the art:

There was a time in my life when everything felt loud and silent at once.

I created Limitations during a period when I was working through trauma, the kind that reshapes the way you see yourself and the world and leaves you feeling lost. The central figure is blindfolded, not because they cannot see, but because sometimes seeing hurts. Sometimes survival means turning inward.

The branches behind her are not just background. They are memory. They are the trees I used to stare at from my parked car when I felt overwhelmed and needed somewhere to recover quietly. I would sit there, suspended between leaving and staying, watching the forest like it might explain something to me.

Blindfolds and branches became my shorthand for pain, a theme you may see repeated in some of my pieces. They are for feeling entangled, restrained, limited by things unseen. But they are also symbols of endurance and memory. Trees grow through damage and keep a record. Branches reach outward even when twisted.

The vibrant color in this piece must be felt. It reflects not only the emotional expression, but my love for drawing and super saturated color.

Limitations is not just about restriction. It’s about the tension between confinement and resilience. The invisible forces that bind us  and the strength that exists underneath them.
